ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Lizbeth Stephen, a high school student with a passion for charitable outreach and community service. As President of the Cherupushpa Mission League, I’ve had the privilege of leading fundraising efforts that raised over $5,000 to support orphanages and build homes in India. My commitment to helping others extends beyond my local community—I’ve volunteered in India, providing educational support to underserved children and delivering meals to those in need. I’ve also interned at medical centers, where I gained hands-on experience in healthcare while offering compassionate support to patients.
Fluent in Malayalam and deeply connected to my cultural and spiritual values, I’m dedicated to making a lasting impact through education, healthcare, and service.
LEADERSHIP
I have successfully guided community initiatives, including fundraising and outreach programs, engaging over 200 members to support causes like building homes and supporting orphanages in India.

President, Cherupushpa Mission League (CML) (August, 2023 - July, 2024)

Spearheaded the activities in the CML, a community-centered organization focused on spiritual growth and cultural values, and coordinated weekly meetings, and plan community outreach programs.

Identified and resolved scheduling conflicts by collaborating with the Parish priest to create a flowing program

Organized events, and led efforts to raise $5000 for orphanages in India and to build houses in Punjab. Engaged over 200 members of our church to participate in auctions, fundraisers, and charities in order to make this possible.

Volunteer, Charitable Outreach in India (June, 2022 - July, 2022)

Led initiatives to support underserved communities in India by organizing visits to the hungry, schools, and the sick and using money to help support these groups.

Created tutoring sessions with the children at the schools to help with their education and volunteered at a food bank to give out to the poor.

Delivered meals to over 50+ individuals, helped 15+ kids with their education at low income schools, and provided essential moral support for the sick at the hospitals

Assisted a pulmonologist, Dr. Bhola, in patient care by conducting assessments, looking over medical histories, and learning various diseases by examining X-rays

MEDICAL VOLUNTEERING
Volunteer, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center

Role: Supported hospital staff with moving patients, providing comfort, and assistance to patients and families.

Impact: Improved patient care experience by supporting over 30 patients during my service. Contributed to a more efficient hospital environment.

OTHER IMPACTFUL ACTIVITIES
Campventure VolunTeen
Oversaw 50 kids during camp, led engaging crafts events. Organized field trips to libraries, amusement parks, horse riding, and pools.
Elementary Tutor
Mentored elementary kids on complex math, fractions, decimals. Helped improve reading comprehension, taught through mnemonics and innovative learning.
Red Cross Secretary
Helped lead monthly operations meetings, partnered with Orange County chapter on blood drives, recruited donors, hosted CPR & home safety events.
Alter Service
Assisted clergy during Mass, prepared altar items, arranged candles, wine, and bread. Helped facilitate processions and supported a respectful, smooth-running service environment.
Sunday School Teacher
Taught 7 young kids lessons on faith, incorporated storytelling, discussions, and personal insights. Arranged group songs and altar service lessons.
Organized mental health awareness events, facilitated discussions on mental well-being. Supported peer education on mental health resources, promoted a supportive community environment.
Bharatanatyam Dancer
Performed traditional Bharatanatyam routines, showcased cultural heritage through expressive dance. Developed skills in rhythm, storytelling, and physical discipline, contributing to community arts events.
